The countdown to Valentine's Day is on, and we're officially 28 days out. While it might seem a bit early to jump on picking out presents for the man in your life, Amazon has just put the beloved Lacoste polo shirt on sale at 50% off.

So, what better time than now to order one of a few for your favorite guy as a Valentine's Day gift? Especially since this polo goes with practically everything, and every man I know appreciates that kind of effortlessness when it comes to what's in their closet.

Lacoste is iconic for a reason: the man behind their brand crafted the most comfortable polo shirt, and I'll stand by that. René Lacoste, a legendary French tennis player nicknamed 'The Crocodile" for his aggressive tactics on the court, created the Lacoste polo we love today after retiring his racket, which revamped tennis attire from stuffy to stylish.

Because before the polo? You had to wear long-sleeved shirts on the tennis court. Yikes, right?

That green crocodile embroidered on the front then became synonymous with luxury, and there you have it, a small history lesson on how the Lacoste polo came to be.

The Lacoste polo normally retails for $110 on Amazon, but many of the colors are on sale for $54.99 through $67.88 right now, and I'm not sure how long the deal will run for, to be honest.

I do find this polo fits true to size, but I have only ordered the mediums and the larges for guys in my life, and in the reviews, some people say that the sizes above large run smaller.

As for the fabric, I like it a lot, but the only downside is that after washing, you will have to steam the collar out to prevent it from looking wrinkly, but that's not the biggest deal.
