Around 2021 and 2022, TikToker Delaney (@garbanzh0e) matched with a guy on a dating app. They went out on a date at a sushi spot in Denver, Colorado. There wasn't amazing chemistry, but overall, it went well. They got to know each other a little better as they enjoyed the food, and he even made her laugh at one point.

When dinner ended, he asked her if she wanted to see his place since it was right around the corner. She agreed. Looking back, she realizes that she should have just gone home.

As they walked up the stairs to his luxury apartment, he turned to look at her and randomly announced that he and his friends had recently gotten into money laundering.

She paused and asked him to clarify. He repeated himself confidently and added that they had gone into business with the cartel, but it was all safe, so she didn't have to worry.

Delaney wondered why he was telling her this so casually. She wanted to stick around and find out more. His apartment was gorgeous and massive.

It was dripping in wealth and luxury. There was fancy artwork on the walls and diamond chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. When they walked into the entryway, he called out to his friends and announced that he was home.

"The boys just start coming into the hallway from various rooms, and they're just flooding in," said Delaney. "And it's like, so many men surrounding me, and I'm overwhelmed. The gag is none of them acknowledge me, none of them say hello to me, none of them ask my name. It's like I'm not there."

Once the men dispersed, Delaney and her date headed to the kitchen to grab something to drink. It only took a couple of minutes to get a bottle of water.

When they reached the living room, she saw that the men had arranged a bunch of chairs in a circle. However, there wasn't an extra seat for her. So, everyone else took their seats, leaving her to stand there with her bottle of water.

What made the whole situation even more unsettling was the fact that they had assigned seats. The guy she was on a date with looked at her and told her to grab a chair from the other room.

"I'm embarrassed to admit that I did grab my own chair, but the boys didn't make a little spot for me, so I'm just awkwardly pulling a chair in and putting it behind this guy, and I'm not in their circle," said Delaney.

The men chatted amongst themselves. Then, one of the guys got up and left. He soon returned with a large platter containing every substance you could think of.

There were capsules, powders, herbs, and more. They passed the tray around the circle. Delaney had never witnessed something like this up close. She got the sense that it was just a typical night for them.

The guy she was on a date with took a substance and offered her some as well. She politely declined, saying that she had to work in the morning.

Still, no one else had acknowledged her presence in the room. She sat in silence, quietly sipping her water and observing the events unfold.

After about 15 to 20 minutes, she began to get restless and wanted to leave. During a lull in the conversation, the guy she was with asked if she was going to spend the night.

Everyone heard and turned to look at her. She calmly said no and that she would stop by the restroom before she left.

Her date walked her to the elevator. She rode down and got a ride home. That was the last she ever saw of him. It was by far the worst date she had been on.
