Do you think it's a red flag for someone to intentionally show off their assets on a first date, then get mad at you for trying to be respectful while keeping your eyes glued to their face?

This 32-year-old man went out on a first date a few evenings ago with a 31-year-old woman. They originally matched on a dating app, and they had dinner at a local restaurant.

"She was wearing a VERY low-cut top, and honestly, I was surprised and mildly uncomfortable when I first saw her. That's not her fault; that is completely on me for feeling that way, I know this," he explained.

"We started on dinner, and we're just talking, and I made sure to keep my eyes trained on hers, and if I looked away, I'd always avoid her chest. When we were near the end of eating, she told me, 'It's okay to look, you know.'"

"I immediately froze up; my cheeks were red, and I shook my head. I told her that, respectfully, I wouldn't look. She seemed put off by this, and our date kind of dwindled."

He didn't think it was bad that she wore such a revealing top. He thought she was gorgeous, but he's not accustomed to seeing a girl show that much skin on a normal night out.

Dinner came to an end; they said goodnight to one another, and because it was dark outside, he was a gentleman and walked her out to her car.

From there, they went their separate ways. After he got back to his place, he noticed that this girl unmatched him on the app, which made him feel terrible.

He genuinely believed that he was doing the right thing by showing her a degree of respect instead of drooling over her body. But since she clearly was upset by his actions, he's left wondering if he did something wrong.

"I just wanted to be respectful and show that I care about making people comfortable, and ogling is generally uncomfortable for many women. Even if she said I was okay to look, I can't be sure of that. So I thought it best to be safe," he concluded.

Well, they were just wrong for one another; it's not that they did anything wrong. Maybe this girl was only searching for a hookup, which is why she made that outfit choice and put herself on display like that.

I do applaud him for not trying to objectify women, though!
