If you desperately wanted to be a parent but found out that your spouse was cheating on you and most likely going to leave you for their affair partner, would you still want to have a baby with them?
This 36-year-old woman just figured out that her husband is having an affair, and he's head over heels for his mistress. She suspects he's going to leave her for the other woman, even though she's been with him for the last 18 years.
She's doubting that there will be enough time for her to overcome him stabbing her in the back, find a new man she can trust, and then go on to have children with him.
She's considering two options. The first is staying with her husband and dealing with her affair (which is basically public information now) and having a baby with him, because even if he files for divorce, she still will get a baby out of it.
Her second option is to leave her husband, try her luck at dating, and pray that she meets a man, even though her biological clock is ticking.
"I am inclined to option 1 because with option 2 there are no guarantees, and at this moment having a child is my lifelong dream; we just waited for the best moment, and it was supposed to be this year," she explained.
"Before his affair, we were talking about it and were planning for having a child this year; at this point, I would assume that changed for him. I would not even bring it up."
"He is still supposed to be deciding if he loves [her or me], but it's looking more like he remains with me so he can put his finances in order before leaving. I would have never gotten pregnant without asking him, but honestly, he has betrayed me in the worst ways possible and might take away the dream of my life (becoming a mother)."
She really just wants to prioritize her desire, which is being a mom. She doesn't have the money to get a donor, which would cost her around $40,000, and it would be too hard for her to freeze her eggs.

She also isn't interested in a one-night stand, as she won't have medical history on a man like that, and she worries about finding a great, single guy should she exit her marriage.
She says at least her husband is an amazing person with great values, despite his cheating.
Well, I am not a fan of her insisting that her husband is this perfect man with values because cheaters aren't that at all. I think she's being delusional and trying to convince herself that he's not that bad so she can get a baby out of him.
There are other ways for her to be a mom, like adoption. Having a baby with her husband when he could leave her at any moment for his mistress is the worst idea of them all on her road to becoming a mom.
Adoption would be my suggestion, or freezing her eggs, even though that's not exactly fun, as that does buy her the time she needs.
Do you think she should have a baby with her cheating husband, or get back out there and see what else she can find by way of a baby daddy?
