If you knew your coworker's marriage was in trouble, and you spotted their spouse on a dating app, expressing interest in finding a serious relationship, would you tell them?
This 37-year-old woman has just gotten back into the dating pool, and earlier in the week, while she was on a popular dating app swiping away, she came across her coworker's husband, and now she's struggling with how to handle this.
"I was taken aback and wanted to be certain, so I double-checked with another colleague, also a good friend of mine who also knows her well," she explained.
"All the details and the photos match; it’s definitely him. Now both of us are unsure about how to proceed. I realize this question has been asked many times before, but we want to avoid a situation where someone else discovers this and perhaps delivers the news in a much less sensitive way than we would."
She and her friend both know that their coworker's marriage is on the rocks and it's not looking like it will improve in the near future.
Her coworker and husband are attending couples counseling together, and she's afraid that if she tips her coworker off to what her husband is up to, it could be the final event that ends their marriage entirely.
"We've considered [that] they are maybe trying an open relationship, but his dating intentions are set to 'serious relationship'...
As a woman who got cheated on, I would like to know," she continued.
"But I'm not her. Do we tell her, and if so, how do we approach this? I am aware we could easily turn into the bad guys as well..."
She should grab screenshots so she has evidence to present to her coworker, and yes, she needs to tell her. She can just frame her message like she's not trying to judge her coworker in case she is in an open marriage; she just wants to let her know her husband is on a dating app, should that not be something they agreed upon.

And I highly doubt her coworker gave her husband permission to do this, because if he said he's looking for something serious, that definitely means their marriage has to be over. So why would they still be in counseling?
What advice do you have for her?
