Ten months ago, on October 24, TikToker Summer (@noatherescuedoodle) paid a man and a woman $500 to surrender their severely neglected Goldendoodle to her. The dog, Daisy, was in bad shape at the time and had been left outside with another deceased dog.

On August 24, Daisy's court case in Norman, Oklahoma, finally reached a conclusion. The Goldendoodle had been abused and starved to the point of malnourishment.

The case didn't exactly have the outcome that Summer had hoped for, but she's glad that at least some justice was served.

"I will also say that was such a humbling experience for me," said Summer. "I work a very confrontational job, but I was so uncomfortable in that police station."

"They made me feel stupid. I asked for a report number at the end. They didn't give me one. My lawyer had to call and get it."

Thanks to a lawyer offering to help and a media outlet running a news article about Daisy's case, a huge buzz surrounding her story was generated online.

People were outraged to hear about how Daisy was treated, and they demanded more justice and answers. Charges were ultimately pressed against Daisy's previous owners.

Each person received two felony charges. They were given a four-year deferred sentence and ordered to pay a $500 fine for each dog they abused. Additionally, they are prohibited from owning any animals during their deferred sentence.

Daisy is now living her best life, which is the biggest victory of all. The once-neglected Goldendoodle is now being given the care she deserves.

Many TikTok users praised Summer for working hard to help Daisy in the comments section. They also agreed that the punishment for her previous owners should have been harsher.

"Two felony charges [are] the right direction, but they should have served time. Abuse and death should equal prison. Thank you for everything you did for Daisy!!" exclaimed one user.

"She looks a lot like my baby who was also neglected on an Amish farm until we got her," wrote another.

"Their fine should have been more, but I'm so happy the money you paid them got taken back!! They never deserved Daisy," added a third.

"Amazing story. This world needs to take animal abuse seriously. Fines, jail time, community service, and never be able to own another animal again. Great job bringing this to attention and never giving up!" chimed in a fourth.

"I just don't get why people make the effort to get a dog that they don't want to care for. Having a pet is a choice," stated someone else.

After everything Daisy has endured, she can now wake up every day knowing that she's safe and loved. Summer is currently focused on making sure that Daisy is happy and healthy.
