TikToker @laylaytupacbae shares scary stories and urban legends from Flint, Michigan, and surrounding areas. Recently, she talked about what is now known as the Bruce Mansion.
A haunted mansion is located in Burnside Township, near Brown City, Michigan. It was built in 1876 by John Bruce. He and his brother owned a local store in town. Soon after the house was built, a bunch of crazy stuff started to happen.
In 1881, a fire burned down most of the town, except for the store and the mansion. At the time, nobody questioned it. But then, another fire occurred in 1894. This time, the store was burned down.
John Bruce rebuilt the store but ended up selling the house. He sold it to a woman named Cynthia. A couple of months later, she died of a fever. Cynthia's son assumed ownership of the mansion, but he was smart enough not to live in it.
In 1926, he sold it to a man named John Walker. He took good care of the house. One day, he went for a drive, and it was rumored that he hit a lady in the middle of the street.
Not wanting to get in trouble, he buried her body on his estate. Shortly after, he began seeing things in the house. He reportedly kept seeing a shadowy figure. He ultimately took his own life.
For a few years, the house was abandoned. In the early 2000s, someone purchased it and turned it into an official haunted location. One person visited the house and saw lights flickering in the attic, even though it was not yet open at that time.
Later, a couple took a tour of the house. They immediately felt a dark presence and heard heavy footsteps coming from the attic. They also heard growling noises in the basement. When the couple walked outside, they glanced back and saw a shadowy figure staring at them from the attic. Today, tours are still offered.
In the comments section, several TikTok users discussed seeing the house for themselves and even mentioned other haunted establishments in the area.

"Growing up, we were always told stories about how sometimes, when people looked at the house driving past, there would be a woman standing in the window. Now, the new owners have a mannequin of a woman in the window. To me, it kind of just ruins the whole thing with that," wrote one user.
"We stayed the night in there. It was wild. It is absolutely haunted," commented another.
"There is another house in Indian Village in Detroit. The man killed her, buried her, dug her up, slept with her, etc. It happened in the '80s. I read about it," added a third.
