A decade ago, TikToker Rachel (@rjp2604) and her husband bought a house with a ghost in it. When they first moved in, she could feel a male presence in the house.
She knew the ghost was linked to the lady she had purchased the home from. The lady was elderly and had to move into a care facility.
Rachel assumed that the male presence was the lady's husband, but there wasn't a man's name on the deed. For a while, Rachel couldn't figure out who the ghost was.
But then, a neighbor happened to mention that when the previous owner bought the house back in 1968, her husband had died soon after they moved in. So, that made Rachel think the husband's spirit was still in the house.
"I never got the impression that he didn't want us there," said Rachel. "I just got the impression that he was kind of hanging out. So, I never really saw him. It was only ever just a feeling that he was in the house."
One time, Rachel came home from work and saw the blinds in the window move. She saw a male head through the window and assumed that it was her husband. But when she walked up to the front door, it was locked, and no one was home.
Another time, she was in the bedroom. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a man walk along the hallway while she was home alone.
After a couple of years of living there, the ghost disappeared. She woke up one morning, and he just wasn't around anymore.
A couple of months later, Rachel was chatting with her neighbor. The neighbor informed her that the lady who had owned Rachel's home recently passed away.

"The timing kind of matched up," said Rachel. "The time that I felt him leave was around the time that she died. So, I kind of think he was waiting for her...I think he just couldn't move on until she passed."
"Whether he came back to wait for her because he knew she was going to pass soon or whether he'd been in the house the whole time, I don't know. I believe he was there waiting for her."
Many TikTok users shared similar ghost stories in the comments section.
"I saw a man in a hoodie in the corner of my room. He walked toward me, and when I screamed, he fizzled like a firework. It really scared me. My partner, who always wore a hoodie, passed six months prior to this. So, it may have been him. But he never appeared again. I think because he knew he scared me. But I get comfort, thinking he's still there," shared one user.
"My grandparents' house had been in our family since 1912 and had the spirit of my great-grandmother in it. She died in the house in 1969 when I was five years old. My grandmother died in 1999 when I was 35 years old. On the night of my grandmother's funeral, I felt my great-grandmother's presence telling me that she's got her, and she's safe," wrote another.
"We live in a mid-1800s house. It came with the spirit of a lady who used to live here. She (like your spirit) seems to have moved on. We also have a ghost cat, which we see and feel. It's welcome here," added a third.
