If your partner threw a tantrum over you getting a promotion, since it would entail you no longer having the time to cook them dinner every night, how would you feel?
This 28-year-old woman has spent the last four years of her life in corporate America, working a spirit-breaking job. She's been thinking of quitting for months, and a week ago, she experienced a miracle.
One of her company's competitors offered her an enormous promotion, so she will have a role in leadership that pays her so much better.
This is beyond her wildest dreams, and it means she will now have a 40-minute commute and loads of additional responsibilities.
"Instead of being happy for me, my boyfriend (30M) completely shut down. We have been together for three years, and lately, we’ve been arguing constantly about almost everything," she explained.
"But this new job has blown things completely out of proportion. Here is the underlying issue: I love cooking. It’s my biggest hobby and how I unwind."
"Because my current job is so easy and mindless, I’m always home by 5 PM. For the last three years, I have cooked a full, fresh dinner from scratch practically every single night. My boyfriend has gotten completely used to this lifestyle. He doesn't cook at all."
After she let her boyfriend know about the new job offer, he instantly got mad that she won't be around to cook him dinner anymore.
He snapped that she was bound to be tired and stuck in rush hour traffic, putting her home at approximately 7 at night. He whined that their nightly routine would be destroyed.

Yesterday evening, they got into a blowout fight. She couldn't get her boyfriend to see that this is her chance to have an amazing future.
Her boyfriend called her selfish and said she's being greedy and not prioritizing their relationship. He said that if she was a good girlfriend, she wouldn't ruin their home life for a bigger title.
"I’m so hurt. I feel like he doesn’t view me as a partner with ambitions; he views me as a live-in chef who happens to have a side job," she continued.
"The constant fighting is draining me, and now I’m second-guessing everything. Am I crazy for wanting to take this job and put my foot down, even if it means our relationship might end over it?"
This grown man threw a fit over her wanting to have a better career, and that's inexcusable. She should take the job, ditch her man, and use her new money to move out.
