A couple of months after TikToker Shayna (@shay76349) broke up with her toxic boyfriend, she matched with Ben, a 30-year-old blonde guy on a dating app. He picked a fancy restaurant for their date. Even though fancy restaurants made her nervous, she agreed to go.
They talked about the restaurant a little bit beforehand, and he mentioned that he had never been there before. But when they walked into the restaurant on the day of the date, the server and bartender both greeted him by name.
"I think this date goes horribly because I'm being me," said Shayna. "I'm being so eccentric and loud and bubbly and telling a story a million miles a minute, and he is just flat. Then, finally, when I poke and prod him enough, he starts to talk to me about his jobs."
He worked two jobs. One was as a server at another fancy restaurant, and the other was at a car dealership. At the end of the date, he told her that he had a great time and wanted to see her again. They ended up dating for about a month.
At first, he was communicating normally. He would text her once before work and once after work. However, she noticed that he was getting simple details about her wrong.
For example, one time, she told him that she was driving to Cleveland to visit her brother, but for some reason, he thought that she only had five sisters.
Another time, he randomly texted her, asking if her car was fixed yet. She was confused because nothing was wrong with her car. Furthermore, he never referred to her by name the entire time they were together. He only ever called her "babe" or "baby."
When things started to get a little more serious between them, Ben introduced her to his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend. He also invited her on a weekend trip to the Virgin Islands.
One day, she went to work and was sitting at her desk when one of her friends sent her a screenshot of Ben from their local area's Facebook page: "Are we dating the same guy?"

It turned out that Ben had several other girlfriends, five to be exact. Apparently, one of the girls in the comments section who had dated him was from the same town as Shayna. Ben had acted as if he had never heard of the town when Shayna told him about it.
"Even worse, I go to his Instagram page and go to his following," said Shayna.
"And who is he following? My horrible ex-boyfriend, whose Instagram page, for a long time, was almost exclusively photos of me. He has seen me a million times at this point. I've never met a pathological liar like this."
