After graduating from nursing school, TikToker Bailey (@baileygirlwhatshappenin) started working in the intensive care unit at a hospital. She helped treat a very sick 40- to 60-year-old man named Jason during the entirety of her orientation.

At one point, he was nearing the end of his stay when he suddenly turned a corner. He was finally able to speak again and even sit up on the edge of the bed. It was one of the best days of Bailey's life.

She had a couple of days off, but when she came back to work, Jason was back and in bad condition again. Bailey was devastated.

She went into his room at 3:00 a.m. and didn't leave until 7:00 a.m. The team tried hard to save him, but he ended up passing away. She stayed to help with post-mortem care.

For months after that night, she kept experiencing panic attacks and nightmares. One night, she came in for her shift. Before she went inside the hospital, she had a panic attack in the parking lot. Once she composed herself, she walked in to get her patient assignments.

One of her patients was in the beginning stages of alcohol withdrawal and was starting to have hallucinations. He was seeing people in the room and things crawling on the walls that weren't there. She helped reassure him that the hallucinations weren't real, and he was doing pretty well.

Several hours into the shift, he started showing signs of agitation. When she went to check on him, she found him really upset. He claimed that Jason, the guy who died in the room, was in the corner and wanted to talk to Bailey.

The patient proceeded to list the things they had talked about and the music they played for Jason.

Bailey freaked out and ran out of the room. She didn't think anyone would believe the story. She sobbed to her charge nurse. The charge nurse had been a nurse for 25 years and had never heard of anything like this. Finally, Bailey returned to the patient's room and asked him what Jason had wanted to say.

"The man in the bed who's hallucinating says Jason is in the room; he's been in here, and he's wanted to talk to you all night, and he wanted to say that he has moved on and that you need to, too," recalled Bailey.

She started crying and thanked the man for relaying the message. Since then, she hasn't had any more panic attacks, and she feels much more confident working in the ICU.

"I carry him with me everywhere," said Bailey. "I think about him all the time and his family. It is just how beautiful of a person he was, but I truly learned so much from him."
