If your dad screamed at you for not letting him have your inheritance to spend on your sick half-sibling, how would you feel?
This woman's mom sadly passed away when she was only seven. Her mom left her an enormous inheritance, and her mom was willed the money from her grandma, who died several weeks prior to her being born.
Her own grandparents stepped in to protect her inheritance, but her dad thought he would be in charge of the money, as he was married to her mom.
Her dad was deeply offended upon finding out, but her mom wrote him a letter informing him why she made that decision. Instead of helping, that just hurt her dad even worse, but she has no idea what the contents of the letter were, as she never read it.
When she turned 10, her dad got married again and had kids with her stepmom shortly after that. One of her half-siblings has severe medical issues.
"They have to be fed through a tube because their stomach is paralyzed and they have issues with other organs. Their 'food' is expensive...and my dad and their mom have struggled to afford that because insurance does not cover it," she explained.
"They also have other medical expenses, and they get a lot of help there because of Medicaid, but it's been hard. Since March, they have struggled to come up with a way to pay for the food each week."
"My dad knows how much I inherited from mom, and he wanted to use the money to help pay for at least a while of the food so that they could figure stuff out. I'd never get the money back. But even still, I freaked [out] when he mentioned it, and I told him no way."
Her dad became enraged and screamed at her for wanting to keep the money for herself and tried to guilt-trip her into letting him spend it on her half-sibling.

Her grandma and grandpa will not let her dad touch her money because he's not trying to use it to benefit her. Her dad went to several lawyers in their state hoping to fight it, but he's unable to. Legally, that's her cash, and he has no right to it.
Her dad's wife even tried to tell her that her mom would want her to give the money to her half-sibling, and she responded that her mom wouldn't want that at all. Her mom intended the money to go to her and nobody else, and that made her dad's wife upset.
"Things got really intense over the summer, and my dad agreed I should move in with my grandparents because the daily fights were bad and my half-siblings were hearing everything we were saying," she continued.
"He also said he couldn't stand to look at me when I could do something so good for everyone, and I refuse to because I want to be selfish like my mom was. The last time we talked was last week, and he broke down over the phone about everything."
"He told me how disappointed he was in me and how he didn't understand my refusal to do this when I have so much money to offer. He said even half would be a huge help for a few months. It left me wondering if I should, even though I don't want to."
How sad that her dad's solution was to ship her off to her grandparents for not letting him have her money. It's so mean of her dad to punish her for the gift her mom gave her.
She should hold onto that money and not let her dad have a penny of it, especially for how rude he's been to her all along.
What do you think she should do with the money?
