Many years ago, TikToker Janessa (@janessa.gunderson) met a man on Reddit who turned out to be one of the worst dates she ever had.
They talked for a while before finally deciding to meet up. He lived in Texas, and she was in Michigan, so it was quite a distance. He planned to drive and spend the weekend with her.
When he arrived, he met her at her apartment. They went out to dinner and returned to her apartment, which she shared with her friends. They played board games, drank, and just hung out. At the end of the night, he went to his hotel.
During the night, he did have to step outside to make phone calls a couple of times, but overall, everything seemed fine. Even the dogs liked him, and that made Janessa feel more reassured.
The next day, they all went out for a boat ride. Then, out of nowhere, he needed to make a phone call. Janessa figured that it had something to do with his job.
"He had told me he was a realtor, so I assumed that he had deals that maybe he had been working on," said Janessa. "Now he just picked up everything and came to Michigan, so he needed to still work on those deals. It made sense to me."
Janessa and her friends took him back to the dock and drove away. They stayed near him so they could pick him back up. Finally, they finished their day out in the water and went downtown for dinner. Again, he hung out back at the apartment for the night before he left the next morning.
They both had a great time and hoped to see each other again. But as soon as he left, Janessa just felt that something was off about him.
She didn't really know why because he seemed totally normal. She and her friends looked him up online. Janessa had already found his realty website, and he didn't use social media.

So, she ended up using a paid website to search for him. She not only found his age, address, and phone number, but also his wife's contact information. Janessa texted his wife and explained what had happened.
"If you are participating in behavior like this, and you don't stop, I hope that somebody catches you and that they text your wife, too," said Janessa.
His wife wasn't sure whether to believe her. Janessa quickly took screenshots of the pictures and messages before he could delete them and block her.
She sent the proof over to his wife. His wife said that he was supposed to be at a realty conference. They had two young kids together.
In the end, both he and his wife blocked Janessa, and they are still married.
