If you spotted a photo of your spouse with their late partner at your wedding, would you pull it down or leave it up for all the guests to see?
This man's wife was engaged once before he came into her life, but then her fiancé tragically passed away a couple of years ago. His wife's family was extremely close to her fiancé, which he never had a problem with, as he knows how much this man meant to his wife.
When he and his wife got married, they set up a little memorial table full of photos of their loved ones who had passed away. He paid their decorator extra money to set up the table, buy the frames, and print out all the pictures.
His mother-in-law did ask him if she could put several photos up, and he gave her permission, thinking she was talking about actual members of their family who are no longer with them.
"During the reception, I walked past the table and saw a framed engagement photo of my wife and her late fiancé together," he explained.
"I quietly asked our coordinator to take it down and put it somewhere safe. I didn’t make a scene or bring it up during the wedding."
His mother-in-law did see the photo was missing, and she got mad. She accused him of attempting to erase a man her daughter loved because of his own insecurity.
His wife is sympathetic to why he was so upset about the photo being on the memorial table, but she thinks he should have left the photo up, as her mom believes her late fiancé is their family.
"I have no issue with him being remembered. I just think putting an engagement photo of my wife with another man at our wedding without asking me was a strange choice," he continued.

He's left wondering if he was disrespectful, which is his mother-in-law's opinion of what he did.
His mother-in-law unquestionably knew that the photo was a rude choice; otherwise, she would have told him that she wanted a photo of his wife's late fiancé up there instead of being vague.
Sounds like his mother-in-law does want him to compete with a ghost. His wedding was not the best time or place to put that photo on display.
What do you think?
